Prior to the COVID shut-down, Crystal taught beginning band with the Riverton Music Band program at Syracuse Arts Academy. Highlights of her performance career include soloing with the Brigham Young University Idaho Orchestra performing “Poem”, soloing with the Eagle Mountain Symphony Orchestra (EMSO) performing Mozart’s concerto in G, soloing with the Mountain Crest High School Marching Band, taking gold at the Bridgerland Flute Festival, being featured in the Noon Music Series at the Logan Tabernacle, and sitting as principal flute with EMSO and the BYU-Idaho Symphony band tour to Mexico. In 2009 she performed in the Lyceum Music Festival in Park City with The Five Browns. She has sat all three chairs, including piccolo for “Mikado” with the SUU Opera, and Copland’s Third Symphony. Some of her instructors have been Dr. Virginia Stitt, Dr. Nadine Luke, and Mercedes Smith of the Utah Symphony. Amy Nielsen

"Definitely Crystal has what it takes to be a great teacher to students at all levels. She is very approachable & friendly. I'm an adult student returning from a sabbatical from music but I plan to bring my daughter to her also."

Angela Baker

"Crystal’s style of teaching was the perfect balance of precision and discipline, with relaxed atmosphere and working with the the flow and needs of the student. She knows what it takes to become a true musician, and when she would demonstrate her skills while teaching, it was apparent that she has a true love of the instrument - and it was contagious! Thank you Crystal!

Joe Van Duren

“Crystal is highly invested in her students and has a big heart. She knows what it takes to be a successful musician and can help any dedicated student on their way.”
